Moonbats

The chosen one's new moonbat science adviser told us yesterday that global warming is SO bad that they are discussing "radical" technologies to cool Earth's air. John Holden said they are considering geoengineering the climate, including one option that includes shooting pollution particles into the upper atmosphere to reflect the sun's rays.

He compared global warming to being "in a car with bad brakes driving toward a cliff in the fog." That coincidentally is also how I feel about the chosen one's administration.

Why don't we just get a big umbrella?

I'm Just Saying - where did he find this moonbat?

Government Money

Don't let your mouth write no check that your tail can't cash.

Seeing that quote by the famous statesman Ellas Otha Bates, better know as Bo Diddley, reminded me of the current situation that the chosen one has thrust upon American. Apparently his experience as a community organizer didn't exactly prepare him for the task at hand. Indeed the emperor has no clothes.

Here are some other great quotes about the government and our money from politicians, comedians, playwrights, and philosophers.
The taxpayer: that's someone who works for the federal government, but doesn't have to take a civil service examination. - Ronald Reagan

We have the best government that money can buy. - Mark Twain

Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys. - P. J. O'Rourke

When a government takes over a people’s economic life it becomes absolute, and when it has become absolute it destroys the arts, the minds, the liberties and the meaning of the people it governs. - Maxwell Anderson

The trade of the petty usurer is hated with most reason: it makes a profit from currency itself, instead of making it from the process which currency was meant to serve. Their common characteristic is obviously their sordid avarice. - Aristotle

Three groups spend other people's money: children, thieves, politicians. All three need supervision. - Dick Armey

We contend that for a nation to try to tax itself into prosperity is like a man standing in a bucket and trying to lift himself up by the handle. - Sir Winston Churchill

When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic. - Benjamin Franklin

The government has no money that it didn't confiscate from the taxpayer. - Steve Stephens (OK, I might not have been the first with that thought but it's true)

I'm Just Saying - a fool and his money are soon parted.

Letterman - Synonyms

Letterman - vitriolic, caustic, acerbic, acrid, bitter, disagreeable, unpleasant, destructive, asshole. Those are just the clean synonyms to describe what used to be a comedian!

The Late Show should be renamed "The View at Night" because Letterman's rants remind me of all the hen pecking coming from its daytime model, the completely vacuous "The View." I stopped watching him a few years ago when he quit being a comic and became the attack dog for the DNC. However, I was flipping channels last night and saw Bill O'Reilly was on his show. It didn't take long to remember why I'd stopped watching. As soon as O'Reilly sat down Letterman said "I think of you as a goon." It didn't improve appreciably from there.

I was never particularly fond of O'Reilly but this kind of treatment by a supposed late night comic is unconscionable. Maybe vilifying conservatives is entertainment to the shallow minded liberal audience that applauds every rant but I think he's pretty much outlived his success.

If you'd like to see for yourself go to the video excerpt at CBS.

I'm Just Saying - it's time to put Dave out to pasture.
